Farewells to new friends

This last week, during mutation (transfers) a number of missionaries went home after faithfully serving for two years. This was the first such group that we had developed relationships with, and will miss them!

It is a strange existence in the Congo when the most difficult experience is not choosing to serve and leaving for one’s mission, but going home! Their lives once they return home will often be much more difficult than while serving on their mission! This is simply NOT true in most other parts of the world. For most, it is a great sacrifice to leave home and family, school and careers, to serve missions. It is rarely a trial to return home…
