Here are some pictures for you to enjoy:
On the way home from teaching with the missionaries Terri and I saw a small sign about a secluded beach, so we drove up and over the hill to see it–we were very surprised at how many homes were hidden on the other side. On our way back there was a great view of Phillipsburg, and of the salt ponds. Back in the day they used these ponds to make salt. Like the Great Salt Lake, water collects in this basin, then evaporates to create very salty water that they can use to make salt. Now they don’t use it for anything…in fact, it is where they chose to put their dump. So…one of the more humorous sign placements we have seen. When first seeing the sign, it looks like a typical bar sign…but then when you see the ‘motto’ under the sign, well, one is not quite sure what they are saying!
